Yet 3 More Free Things to Do in Wine Country

Wine country doesn’t have to cost you tons of cash

Here in the Sonoma Wine Country, we know that there are plenty of great things to see and do that are free!

Here’s three more in our list:

  1. Watch the world go by from the stoop of LOCALS tasting room in Geyserville. On the crossroads of Highway 128 in the Alexander Valley, from the stoop of LOCALS tasting room you can watch wine country go by: grape farmers in their pick-ups, vintners in their Priuses, and poor, lost souls coming back from Napa. Ah… prodigal tasters. We will kill the fatted calf and welcome you back.
  2. Hike one of the umpteen regional parks. Shiloh Ranch Regional park outside WIndsor is a current fave. Park on the street and walk around oak covered hills that overlook vineyards on the Santa Rosa plain. For a cheap lunch, head into Windsor and try the tacos at Lupe’s on the Town Green.
  3. Visit a farmers market. The Santa Rosa farmers market is a bit of a wine country locals secret. Many of the vendors that are in Sonoma and Healdsburg and Occidental during the summer and harvest show up for the Santa Rosa, year-round market on Saturdays in Santa Rosa. Music, crafts, and the ever-important taco truck. Sadly, the tacos cost money. Fortunately, not much. At the Veterans Building in Santa Rosa, Saturday mornings.
