From an 18-year transplant (in California, after 15 years, you kind of become a “native”) who details what Wine Country Casual is and how to pull it off.

(You can start by pulling off that suit – are you here to drink wine or serve me with papers?)

Then… I moved to Sonoma County. OMG, what culture shock evolved from that move. I lived in business suits during my Maine professional days, and then joined a California Rotary where many of the guys came to the meetings in shorts and tropical shirts. I didn’t last long. More…
