The smooth jazz sounds of Boney James have wooed and romanced listeners since his first debut album in 1992. His latest album, Send One Your Love, strives to become the “ultimate make-out cd”. 
James is also credited with popularizing urban jazz which takes contemporary jazz and infuses it with elements of hip-hop and R&B, yielding this funky yet groovy twist on a musical genre long symbolized by Kenny G.
Boney James’ style is smooth, sexy and makes me unknowingly groove in my office chair making for a slightly awkward moment as someone walks by, however the music lends itself to grooving.

Boney James’ remake of “Don’t let me be lonely tonight” serves up a mix of jazz, soul and vocal longing that the lyrics scream for. While I could never say this version is better, it holds a clear candle to the original.

“I’m going to love you just a little more baby” is a fantastic and awesome song. I could listen to it over and over thinking of my special love! I can’t get enough of his loving and hope he feels the same about me! I would love to attend and see Boney as he brings his smooth groove to Rodney Strong. As a smooth jazz lover and musician for the last 12 years, Boney is an incredible mentor and performer. My favorite tune is “Love’s Like That”…I send him love on a quick recovery from his accident…
At first, my favorites were “Gonna Get It” and “Stop, Look, Listen” but now sadly it’s “In the Rain”. In Boney’s music there is an undercurrent of sexiness whether it’s the electric rush of new love or the painful abandonment by love. Welcome back, Boney!
My favorite Boney song has to be……Sweet Thang. It always get the party started. Everyone gets a chance to sing their favorite part. Oh yeah don’t forget, it’s a perfect cha-cha song.
When it comes to Boney jams, I have many favs…I suppose though if I had to choose just one it would be Sweet Thing…I’m a huge Chaka Khan fan and love pretty much everything that is old school funk and R & B. Boney’s smooth delivery on this “sweet” track is sublime.
