While weddings are said to be one of the happiest days in most couple’s lives, they are also often an extraordinarily stressful time. Indeed, depending on the scale of the wedding, the travel needed and the relationships between the families involved, the event can be so pressure-filled that some life experience experts rank it up there with moving or job change.
Which makes something like a before-or-after-wedding massage seem not indulgent, but necessary. And it begs the question, too – why isn’t everyone already doing this?
Miguel Lujan tapped into a previously unexplored market when he began his Samagse Massage service in Sonoma. His therapists offer about a dozen Western/Eastern massage styles, and he is partnered with the Hilton Sonoma Round Barn in Santa Rosa to provide all of their in-room massage and spa services.
But his most recent signature is a mobile bridal party package. He brings his tables, salts and lotions to any site, for pre- or post-wedding spa sessions that release tension, anxiety and tight muscles just when betrothed couples need it most.
In a romantic touch, beloveds can enjoy massages together, including a 60-minute salt or sugar scrub or hot herb massage, plus a body wrap. There is a special wedding package price, offered as an amenity exclusive to the bride-and-groom.
While most of the pressure of a wedding usually falls on the happy couple, a ceremony can require a lot of work from the bridal party, too. Often bridesmaids and groomsmen have plenty of responsibilities that may leave them feeling a bit anxious, too.
For that, Lujan recommends a party package, where groups of six or more can enjoy massages at full price, and then the bride or groom receive their service for free.
It’s a wonderful gift, not only for the newlyweds, but for the friends and family who worked to get them to their blissful day.
