The Crane Melon was invented in the early 1900′s by Sonoma County farmer Oliver Crane, who crossed several different melons. His great great great granddaughter Jennifer Crane owns and operates the family ranch. The melon season is September & October. Melons are sold out of local landmark, The Crane Melon Barn, a barn built in 1868 out of redwood. It is located at 4935 Petaluma Hill Road in Santa Rosa. Please call for days & times for melons.
