Sonoma County’s Dining Out For Life is back Dec. 1

Sonoma County’s deliciously successful fundraiser Dining Out For Life, which raised more than $105,000 last year, will take place again exactly one week after Thanksgiving (perhaps by then we’ll all be hungry again?).

On Thursday, Dec. 1, dozens of restaurants will donate 25 or 50 percent of the food portions of your meal tab, and a handful of eateries pledge the same amount in alcohol sales, too. The recipient of these efforts is Food For Thought, the Sonoma County AIDS Food Bank, which has been serving the region for nearly 25 years.

Among participating restaurants (here’s a full list), those donating the upper amount of 50 percent include Agriculture Bar & Kitchen at Dawn Ranch Lodge in Guerneville, Corks Restaurant at Russian River Vineyards in Forestville, the new Forchetta/Bastoni in Sebastopol, Jo Jo Restaurant and Sushi Bar in Santa Rosa, Roasters Espresso Bar in Forestville, and Trio Restaurant & Bar in Guerneville.

There are many other terrific eateries taking part and donating a still considerable 25 percent to this great cause.

Of course, whether or not you’re able to participate in this night of eating, you can always make a monetary or food donation to Food For Thought, or you can shop the organization’s 3,200-square-foot FFT antiques shop, which carries the wares of 10 different vendors. It’s at 2701 Gravenstein Hwy. S, in Sebastopol (707-823-3101), and it’s open daily from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
