Professional cyclists practice every day, watch their diet like supermodels, and steer clear from anything that looks like fun. They also wear spandex. Every day.
Here’s your chance to look like a pro cyclist, without having to do all the work of one: ride the Amgen Tour of California race route through Sonoma Wine Country on this Saturday January 17th.
The Tour of California Women’s Criterion and All Sport-Team Swift junior riders will be accompanying non-professional riders during the ride.
The race will consist of two groups.
Group A is a casual two-hour ride from Calistoga to Santa Rosa. This group will have a pre-ride bike check, shuttle to Calistoga with your bike, full ride support including mechanical and SAG wagon, and a route map and energy bars/drinks.
Group B is a four hour moderate ride to Calistoga and back. This group will have no services.
To RSVP for either group contact Laura at teamswift@aol.com by January 15th.
Registration is at Longs Drug – 2771 4th St., Santa Rosa, CA. A suggested donation of $20 is being asked of all race participants.
After the ride join local cycling pros Team BMC for a meet and greet at the Flamingo Conference Resort and Spa from 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Even if you don’t cycle, everyone is welcome to join in the fun at the Flamingo.
Don’t forget to check out the Tour of California race through Sonoma County on February 15th. Get the details of Stage One here.
