Visiting Sonoma Wine Country for Memorial Weekend?  Here is a quick list of just some events happening through Sonoma Wine Country this weekend:

Sonoma Jazz + – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

Sonoma Jazz + is a four day, Memorial Day weekend celebration of world class music, food and wine steeped in the relaxing ambiance of California wine country. The festival features evening concerts in a spectacular tent at the Field of Dreams, just two blocks from the town’s plaza. Wine & Song around the Plaza takes place Sat. & Sun. afternoon featuring perfect pairings of the Bay Area’s best musicians and Sonoma Valleys finest wines.

Perfume Rose Harvest Tours – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

A totally unique and wonderfully romantic springtime experience! Help harvest the roses from our beautiful Bulgarian, French and Persian Rose Fields and distill them into fragrant Rose Oil and Rosewater. Become enveloped in the heady scent as you sip tea and enjoy a presentation on rose oil and perfumes from around the world. You will NEVER forget this day in the Wine (and Roses) Country!

Memorial Weekend at Bella Vineyards – Saturday & Sunday

To launch the beginning of our annual “Summer Series”, we are planning a weekend of celebration in our little corner of Dry Creek Valley. From 11 AM to 4:30 PM enjoy food bites throughout the cave, new and pre-release wines for tasting and great local music on the lawn. Tasting and food bites are $10 per person and complimentary for wine club members and their guests. The day will feature rockin’ sounds from Mitch Woods and his Rocket 88s along with food bites from Chef Todd Muir.  Bring a picnic and plan to enjoy a day of sun on the Bella lawn!

Finally Friday’s at Wilson Winery - Friday

Wilson Winery invites you to celebrate Fridays on their rustic redwood deck overlooking the gorgeous Dry Creek Valley. You can take a picnic, enjoy a bottle of Wilson’s award winning wine and listen to live Sonoma County bands. If you don’t have time to prepare your own food, you can even order dinner so that it is ready when you arrive! Just call the winery before noon on Thursday to reserve a plate of food and glass of wine for $20.

Arista Winery – Pinot & Paella – Saturday

On Saturday, May 23, during Memorial day weekend, join us for a fun afternoon of Pinot and Paella tasting at our newly developed event area: The Terrace. We will be tasting some of our new 2007 wines and some of our upcoming 2008 wines straight out of the Barrel with some fantastic varieties of paella.

Cloverdale Heritage Day – Saturday

“Trains in our Past, Trains in our Future” is the theme of the 18th Annual Cloverdale Heritage Day. A celebration of railroads old and new, see how the arrival of the SMART train will change Cloverdale. There will be historical displays, carnival rides, food, crafts, and music.

Ume Bistro Sake Tasting – Saturday

Head to Ume Japanese Bistro for a diversion from the grapevine! At this year’s Sake Tasting, you can try 6 premium sake labels, savor Japanese delicacies & enjoy a Sake seminar with special guest, Ms. Tamiko Ishidate.

Escape to Wine Country at Landmark Vineyards – Saturday

Enjoy live music by Ylanda Nickell, wine by the glass in the courtyard, and complimentary horse-drawn wagon tours at Landmark Vineyards from 1 – 4 p.m.

Annual Petanque Party at Michel-Schlumberger – Saturday

Head on out to Dry Creek Valley to learn Petanque – the game AND the wine – at Michel-Schlumberger estate. Enjoy scrumptious food and stay cool beneath the estate’s 300 year old oak tree.

Sebastopol Gallery Art Exhibit – Sunday

The current exhibit at this artist-owned gallery features our Art at the Source participants and previews their newest work: painting and prints, photography, sculpture, mixed media, ceramics, and designer jewelry.

Fry your head Chili & Salsa Festival – Sunday

Head out to the coast for the Fry Your Head Chili & Salsa Festival in Jenner. Just $10 to taste and vote for Best Chili. You’ll also get to enjoy the barbequed oysters and salsa bar, beer and wine, live music, and even a dunk tank!

Oysterpalooza 2009 – Sunday

Sunshine celebration of the bivalve with five bands, dancing, BBQ oysters, pit-smoked meats and tasty sides. Festival will take place on the rear patio of Rocker Oysterfeller’s Kitchen & Saloon from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. Nominal cover charge for entry. Do not miss this event!

Sky Saddle Winemaker Dinner at Starlight Diner – Sunday

Sky Saddle Wines is holding a winemaker dinner at Starlight Wine Bar & Restaurant. Enjoy a fabulous meal paired with Sky Saddle’s fine wines made exclusively from organically and/or biodynamically grown grapes.
