Windsor is kind of like the forgotten middle child of Sonoma County. Not the County hub like Santa Rosa and not a wine country destination like Healdsburg, Windsor can be all-to-easily overlooked. The town square features many of the same Healdsburg-esque offerings- a locally sourced eatery, Green Grocer, wine tasting at The Windsor Wine Shop, tasty caffeinated beverages at Cafe Noto, and Restaurant Mirepoix for some of the finest French food around.
It also offers the suburbia-style shopping centers with staples such as Safeway, Home Depot, Walmart, ect. It has some of the best of both worlds, between both worlds.
While I thoroughly enjoyed having the town to myself on a Saturday afternoon, I am doing the selfish thing here by letting you all in on some of the best kept secrets in the County. But hey, it’s the holiday season, and sharing is caring.
