Healdsburg’s Shed Gears Up with Staff and Plans for Cider Bar

When Shed opens in downtown Healdsburg in February, customers will be able to get their cider on in grand style.

One of the unique touches to the property that is designed to be a restaurant, market and, “modern grange,” is a fermentation bar, including beverages like wine, beer, cider, and kombucha on tap.

They will also find someone familiar in charge of it all. Kenny Rochford has been named general manager, after many years as general manager of Medlock Ames winery and its tasting room/Alexander Valley bar in Healdsburg.

According to Shed owners Cindy Daniel and Doug Lipton, the concept will be “a place where people eat, gather, stock up, and learn.”

And also get fresh breads.

“We’re championing local grains,” said Rochford, noting the custom wooden Austrian mill that occupies the building. On top of that bread, we can spread honey, from the rooftop beehives. To round out all, we can shop – for gourmet foods, organic meats and produce, and boutique gardening equipment.
