One of my favorite pastimes in Sonoma County over my first five months here have been the amazingly fun, random, and downright strange festivals and fairs occurring non-stop around the county.
I’ve grape-stomped, taken down a Willie Birds’ turkey leg the size of my head, and made the tough decision between attending the regular rodeo versus the Mexican rodeo.
These may be hokey, but where I grew up in Vegas, local festivals are replaced by giant conventions like the Consumer Electronics Show, or the Adult Entertainment Expo. No family-friendly mascots around there!
Now that it’s the holiday season, I am all but overwhelmed by the festivities around the County; there are tree lightings, lights parades, winery open houses, restaurant promos, bar crawls… I clearly can’t do it all. I need your help to compile my must-see list for December.
I have heard that Guerneville puts on an incredible lights parade December 6th, what else can’t I miss?

2 CommentsThere are loads of holiday festivities here, hard to make that decision as to where to spend your time. We just missed the new (first ever) Geyserville Holiday Olive Tree lighting. It happend on Saturday, November 29. But, it’s worth a trip to Geyserville – they have some fantastic restaurants, several wine tasting rooms and art galleries. Some fun – and delicious – places not to miss!
