Game on, Murphy Goode

Alright Mssrs. Murphy-Goode. You finally got to tweeting about the dream $10,000 blogger job you are offering here in Sonoma County. World’s Best Job. Blog, tweet, and vlog about life in Sonoma County.

(Although, to be honest, having something like 20 different accounts tweet the EXACT same tweet within a few seconds of each other was a little suspicious. Perhaps twitter itself has reached the level of “infinite number of monkeys tweeting, eventually 20 of them will all tweet the same press release”?)

So, not to be unwelcoming to the new Johnny Come Lately (or Jeannie) to the whole “Blogging About Whatever You Want To in Sonoma County” but there have been a lot of people doing this for a lot longer time.

A short list:

• Jack London. Writer, socialist, newspaperman, Yukon guy. Blogged about Sonoma Valley, in Sonoma Valley. Kept his blogs in “books.”
• Gaye LeBaron. Local writer and historian. Uses a unique form of a blog called a “newspaper column” in a local paper blog called “The Press Democrat”
• Sonoma Uncorked. The secret duo who look like average citizens by day, but are uber-bloggers by night. They don’t sleep. Seriously- send these folks some coffee.
• Biteclubeats, the secretive blogger making a living for the man (or in this case, the Gray Lady) but still keeping it cool. Stay golden, biteclubeats!
• All the cool wine bloggers. You know who you are. (Except for, uh, you there. You know who you are.)

Tweeple- heard call of wild. Tried to build fire. Found John Barleycorn.

So new blogger for Murphy-Goode, remember that  when you’re chosen you’ll need to meet everyone else and pay them their propers. (You can just pay London his propers. He has since shuffled off this mortal coil.)

And don’t you dare get a ride on the wine country blimp before me. That’s my beat.
