For all those blimp fans out there, a blimp update.
Or Zeppelin, as the case may be.
According to Airship Ventures’ nifty website, you can track the zeppelin as it makes it’s way from Texas to California.
As of Monday night, the “blimpellin” is somewhere over New Mexico, which is odd, because that’s where another mysterious flying object was spotted years ago, leading to Cold-War paranoia, a cottage industry for Roswell, NM, and, tons of money for Tea Leoni’s soon-to-be-ex.
The “zeppelimp” is only 804 miles from Moffett Field in Mountain View, CA, where it will be based part of the time. (Interesting fact- the google guys’ supposedly keep their private airplane at Moffett Field. And they use that jet to fly around the world. And also at Moffett Field is the secret headquarters of the NASA Ames Research Center. And across the street? The “Blue Cube” Air Force Base. C’mon Scully, connect the dots here – wheels within wheels. Do I have to make it any plainer?)
The other half of the time the “dirigiballoon” will be in wine country, toting tourists merrily over the Russian River Valley, and stationed at the Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport (STS).
Will Inside-Sonoma be invited to a preview tour of the wine country blimp?
Stay tuned!
