Dr. Evil’s House of Horror, 16101 Neeley Road in Guereville, www.doctorevilshouseofhorrors.com has been my favorite place to take my friends and family for a night of fun and horror.
It’s an opportunity to share that adrenalin rush you get when you’re scared. It’s the “fright or flight” response that is hard-wired in all of us. Of course, screaming and laughing with companions is a healthy way to enjoy an evening.
Every year the house has a new design to bring a whole new scare to Dr. Evil’s House. Daily, the actors are moved around to change the energy of the house give a whole new scare to those who say, “I’ve been here before I can tell you what’s going to happen.”
Dr. Evil’s House of Horrors is for those older than 12 years and the cost is $10 per person. It’s open every Friday and Saturday in the month of October and on Monday Oct. 31. The hours are dusk ’til done (which is usually 10:30-ish and even later on Halloween night).
For those 11 and under there is a free spooky fun house every day the haunted house is open. On Monday, Oct. 31, there will be candy and prizes for all the kids (and for those who think they are.)
So remember when the sun goes down in Guerneville on Friday and Saturday the evil comes out.
Dr. Evil House of Horrors is a community services project started by Michael and Tracie Skaggs more than 10 year ago. All who participate in this project are volunteers helping to fund local charities within the Russian River community. Many local high school students have used Dr. Evil’s House of Horrors as their volunteer project for their senior requirement for graduation. There is even a young lady by the name of Katherine, who has been with the project since she was 8 years old, making her the veteran of Evil’s minions.
