President Obama went out for burgers with Joe Biden in suburban Virginia today, and it immediately put Ray’s Hell Burger in google-heaven.
With that in mind, I ask: if the Prez and the Veep went out for a casual, delicious lunch in Sonoma County, where would they go? If I was buying, here’s where I would take them:

Great milkshakes and atmosphere, burgers and and ice cream served at a little counter. Obama and Biden could wander over to Ruth McGowans brewpub to knock back a couple, two three beers with the rest of the people on the pavement.
Superburger
1501 4th St.
Santa Rosa, CA
Change is hard to digest, so when Gayle left her joint and this place became “The Original Superburger” there was some hub-bub, both pro and con. But this would be a cool place to hang out with the Prez, and I bet he would be up for heading down the street to sneak into the Flamingo’s swimming pool after lunch.

Haven’t been here, but a co-worker swears by this place. Seeing as I don’t trust her though, I went to a Random Person on the Internet for advice. From yelp: “best burgers in town. cash only but that is ok. love their old school attitude. great milk shakes. yum-o” When done eating here, Barack, Joe and I would walk over to Barking Dog Roasters and hang out watching everyone go into the Fairmont.
I know I left out the foie gras burger from Odyssey in Windsor, and some of the other great burgers like Underwood’s in Graton, but those are if the President is buying or you are.
What did I leave off?
The Grass Fed Burger at the Grocer! only ten bucks!
The President probably won’t go to Big Three at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn. Trying to burnish his “regular guy” credentials. But if he did he would get what I believe is the best burger in Sonoma. Nieman Ranch Beef….perfectly toasted bun…I mean PERFECTLY toasted. I don’t know how they do it. Do you realize how hard it is to get perfection like this? Darned hard is the answer. The fries are perfect as well…oh…this is a fabulous burger. Heck…you can have your choice of cheese as well. I prefer blue.
Right now, they are offering a burger and a beer special for $10. This is without a doubt the best deal going. I had one of these specials last week. Felt good for the rest of the day.

I had the pleasure of having a “Burger & Beer – $10 for Locals” when @Twitchhiker was touring Sonoma for the day. It was THE best burger I have ever had in my life. Honestly!
I loved it so much that a week later I took my friend from Vegas who’s family owned beef cattle in Nebraska. That girl knows burgers. She too loved it!
I’m getting hungry just writing this so I’m going to stop. But definitely get them on your list!
