Bodega Bay – Expensive Small Town?

According to Business Week magazine, the tiny, seaside, murderous-bird infested town of Bodega Bay is one of the most expensive small towns in America.

This comes us a shock to Insiders, as we have long known that the best way to enjoy a lot of living for a little scrilla in the quaint seaside town was to do the following:

  • Book a special deal at the Bodega Bay Lodge and Spa. $135! That’s like a week’s worth of grande pumpkin spice lattes. And the deal includes breakfast… Check it here.
  • Go to the Marine Lab run by UC Davis, when it opens for FREE tours on Fridays from 2 – 4pm.
  • Visit the Ren Brown Collection of contemporary Japanese art. Looking is free.
  • Eat lunch at the Spud Point Crab company, one of the local secrets for great seafood and outdoor seating.
  • Hike Bodega Head and see whales from atop the rugged cliffs. As in, you are on the cliffs, the whales are in the ocean.
  • Visit the Bodega Bay visitors center and say hi to Julie Ann and Brad, and get FREE advice on what to see and do around the coast.

Obviously, had Business Week read Inside-Sonoma for the real skinny on what happens in California’s Sonoma wine country, they would know — Bodega Bay is a real deal, when you do it right.
