Best Chardonnays and Pinots in Carneros and Petaluma Gap

- Nicholson Ranch- Award winning offering of several different Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs in the Carneros regions in a beautiful setting- the farthest southeast winery in Sonoma Country. http://www.nicholsonranch.com

- Hanzell- A favorite winery tour for Chardonnays and Pinots- view of San Francisco from the top of the vineyards (and the entire Fairmont); birthplace of the jacketed kettle and malolactic fermentation; the oldest Pinot vines anywhere- only winery that decants Chardonnay- http://www.hanzell.com/

- Bonneau- Not at all fancy tasting room located in the deli in Schellville where the 12 and 116 meet- unbelievably good Carneros Chardonnay with distinct notes of pineapple- (it came in second place at the DMAI International White Wine tasting event in Atlanta) and nice Pinot too. http://www.bonneauwine.com/

-Schug- (just down the road from Bonneau) Walter Schug makes outstanding Chardonnays and Pinots- one of my favorites and nice, medium sized tasting room too. http://www.schugwinery.com/schugwinery/

- Eric Ross- nice tasting room in Glen Ellen and nice variety of three Pinots. Their Chardonnay is from Sara Lee Vineyard in the Russian River Valley and their Viognier is especially tasty too. http://www.ericross.com/

-Keller Estate Winery- Great setting in the Petaluma Gap and three wonderful Chardonnays and two Pinots plus some additional Chardonnays and Pinots in their higher end Library collection. Another tasty Viognier here also. http://www.kellerestate.com/
