Here’s 3 more free things to do in Wine Country:

1. Play bocce ball. A lot of wineries and tasting rooms in the area have bocce ball courts open to the public. Seghesio in Healdsburg has some great courts. And some great wines…
2. Find Snoopy: there are multiple Snoopy, and Charlie Brown, and other Peanuts characters cast as statues throughout Sonoma County. Santa Rosa’s Railroad Square has a fair collection, but if you look, they are all over the county.
3. Get edumacated about Marine Biology. The UC Davis Bodega Marina Laboratory at Bodega Bay is open on some Fridays, from 2 – 4 pm, for visits. As they state on their site:

“Public Education features at BML include numerous marine aquarium displays, some of which shatter the notion that local marine life is drab. Upon entering our West Wing, visitors experience a 24-foot-long display, containing many colorful local fishes and invertebrates, and a small kelp forest. Past that is a predator aquarium with large, charismatic hunters.

Next to that is a round aquarium that displays anemones and other organisms. Elsewhere around the facility are smaller display aquaria featuring local and, occasionally, exotic marine creatures. A Tidal Mesocosm display allows visitors to experience the biodiversity and dynamic energy of the northern California coast.”
